# Buying and selling

> How to add funds, buy a trend, sell it, and withdraw.

## Add funds

Noise runs on USDC, a digital dollar. To add funds, tap **Deposit** on your profile.

* **USDC on Base** goes straight to your Noise wallet.
* **Other supported assets and networks** are listed in the app. Deposits arrive in your wallet as USDC on Base.

## Buy

1. Open a trend and tap **Buy**.
2. Enter a dollar amount, or pick a share of your balance.
3. Check what you pay and about how many tokens you get.
4. Slide to buy.

The amount you enter is the total that leaves your wallet, including all fees.

The smallest buy is **\$2**, fees included.

## What you pay

| Fee | What it is |

| Fee | 1% of the buy or sell. 30% of it goes to the trend's curator. See [Fees](/how-it-works.md#fees). |
| Network fee | Noise pays the blockchain cost of every buy and sell. This fee pays it back, in USDC. |

You see both before you confirm. The network fee is fixed when you confirm and never changes after.

## Price impact

Every buy moves the price. Each token costs slightly more than the one before it, so larger buys move the price further. This effect is called price impact.

Your quote already accounts for it: the token amount shown is net of price impact and fees.

## When the price moves

Prices can move between the moment you see your quote and the moment your buy settles. If the price moves more than **1%** against your quote, Noise stops the buy and you pay nothing.

## Sell

You can sell some or all of your tokens back to the pool. Open the trend, tap **Sell**, and enter an amount or pick a share of what you hold. You get USDC, less the fee and the network fee.

There is no minimum sell, but a sale must be worth more than its network fee to go through.

## When a buy or sell doesn't go through

You are not charged, including the network fee. Noise covers the cost.

The usual reason is that the price moved more than 1% against your quote. Request a new quote and try again.

## What you hold

Your profile lists every trend you hold, with its value at today's price. **History** shows every buy and sell you have made.

You own what you buy outright. There is no borrowing or leverage, so you cannot lose more than you put in. If a trend's price falls, the value of your tokens falls with it.

## Withdraw

Tap **Withdraw** on your profile to send USDC to any address on Base. The smallest withdrawal is **\$2**. Noise pays the blockchain cost.
